The revolution can be defined as, from a political and social perspective, an event that undergoes major and sudden changes that may reach a state of violence if it reaches the governmental ladder, and on the other hand, this concept is considered a measure of the extent of changes, such as an expression of the industrial revolution that refers to large and radical changes in economic conditions and technological conditions, even if We looked at the history of this concept to find that it has existed since the era of the Greek philosopher Aristotle, when he referred to the term revolution to the changes that take place periodically on successive governments, and in our contemporary days the concept of revolution has become a challenge to the existing political systems to the point of changing the ruling systems, economic systems, social structure and cultural values ​​as we have witnessed that. It occurs in the European revolutions.

The following are the most prominent revolutions that have occurred throughout human history:
  • Chinese Communist Revolution: This revolution occurred in 1949 AD, led by Mao Zedong, leader of the Communist Party, declaring an end to the civil war and the establishment of the People's Republic of China. 

  • The Haitian Revolution: The Haitian Revolution was marked by its fight against slavery, which lasted for twelve years from 1791 AD to 1804 AD.

  • Industrial Revolution: This revolution that was launched in the early nineteenth century from Great Britain aimed at transforming all manual industrial methods into mechanical industries. This revolution is considered among the turning points affecting human civilization due to its great impact on the development of human civilization.

Classification of revolutions

Revolutions are classified according to the following types:

  • Political revolutions: The reason for the occurrence of this type of revolutions is when the state embarked on an era of changes and developments at the economic and social level. 

  • Social revolutions: Social revolutions are usually a product of the political revolution, as the revolution begins with its political state and develops in its social form, causing many clashes and differences between different groups of opinions and orientations.
