The duration of the Trojan War
The Trojan War broke out between the Greeks and the inhabitants of Troy, where the Greeks besieged the city for ten years, until the end of this war in the year 1,104 BC, interspersed with many attacks, battles that failed, and the Trojan War was mentioned in many Greek mythology books.
Many people questioned the credibility of this war until the 19th century, when unconclusive evidence of the existence of the City of Troy in Hisarlik in Turkey was discovered by archaeologists. It should be noted that the Siege of Troy is one of the longest city sieges of that era; since most of the blockades lasted only a few months.
The cause of the Trojan War
The conflict between the Trojans and the Greeks erupted after the kidnapping of Paris (one of the Trojan princes) Helen (Wife of Menelaus of Sparta), and after rejected requests to return Helen to her husband, the Greeks formed an army from several regions to restore them, where the Greek army of tens of thousands of soldiers led by King Agam On the other hand, the inhabitants of Troy, led by Hector, and a number of other members of the ruling family, prepared to deal with the siege and Greek attacks.
The end of the Trojan War
After attempts to blockade Troy and break into its walls failed by the Greeks, Commander Odysseus devised a plan to break the siege, and give the Trojans a huge wooden horse, and a hollow, knowing that the horse named Trojan horse contained a number of Greek fighters hiding inside it, the Trojans entered the horse into the city after consultations among them, and during the following night, the soldiers inside it came out, and then occupied the city of Troy from the inside to end the war.
